Welcome to the Forres in Bloom website.

Following our tremendous success in RHS Britain in Bloom in 2008, where we won Gold in our category, we have accepted an invitation to take part in Entente Florale Europe 2009.

This is a very prestigious competition and a great honour for Forres as we are one of only two towns in the whole of the UK (Buxton in Derbyshire being the other one) to be invited. Jury members from 11 countries will be in Forres on 28th July to judge our efforts.

This is a time for the community to work together to promote our lovely town. We will require considerable support from all members of the Community and from The Moray Council.

By entering a competition at this level we bring Forres and Moray to the attention of the UK and European counties. Our aim is to increase tourism which will in turn boost the local economy.

Fundraising, as ever, is a huge issue. We have applied to various funding bodies and will be seeking sponsorship locally – and further afield. Details of sponsors appear in our Portfolio and also in our display in the window of The Forres Gazette in late July. If you wish to remain anonymous that will be respected.
