Long Term Aims and Future Plans

Environmental Quality

Redesign Tolbooth, Museum and Forres House areas with co-ordinated provision, for example, street furniture.

Continue to involve children and others in cleanlieness intiatives.

Continue to support Pilmuir Events Residents Committee in its efforts to acheive a Neighbourhood Award.

Floral Displays

Continue to promote and refine 'Best Kept Gardens' initiative.

Continue to review choice of plant material and condition of flowerbeds and permanent planting.

Permanent Landscaping

Relocate Nimrod model to War Veterans' raised bed and plant roundel with permanent planting in red, white and blue.

Plant Whiterow and Victoria Bridge areas with wild hyacinths and snowdrops.

Assist Community Warden and youth group with clearing and planting bulbs along Mosset Burn.

Public Awareness

Seek funding to install signage and interpretation boards in significant places.

Work with partners to maintain regular ECO features column in Forres Gazette 'We Love Where We Live'.

Design and market postcards fo rsale in tourist outlets and local businesses.

Redevelop Forres in Bloom website in partnership with Forres Community Web.

Sustainable Development

Continue to pursue initiative to create local allotment area.

Work with local Churches to attain ECO congregation status.

Work with artist Keith barrett to develop areas around Enterprise Park

Education
